Skin protects from heat, sunlight, injury, and infection helps in controlling body temperature and controlling water and fat. Skin cancer is the most common type of cancer. It is usually produced in the skin which is exposed to sunlight, but can be anywhere on the body.

There are several layers of skin in the skin cancer epidermis (outer layer), which is composed of squamous cells, basal cells, and melanocytes.

Many different types of skin cancer are called squamous cell and basal cell skin cancer, sometimes called non-malenoma skin cancer. Nonmelanoma skin cancer usually responds to the treatment and seldom spreads to other parts of the body. Mylynuma more aggressive than most other types of skin cancer. If it is not diagnosed early, it can invade nearby tissues and spread to other parts of the body. The number of melanoma cases is increasing every year, only 2 percent of all skin cancers are melanoma, but this causes the most deaths from skin cancer.

Rare skin types include cancer cells such as Merkel cell carcinoma, skin lymphoma and capsule serachoma.
